Growing a difference

From Earth to Earth

We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment.
From every mushroom grown we give new life to the used substrate - we give it back to Mother Earth

REFORESTATION

We have partnered with Floresta Nativa to support a unique reforestation project using the Miyawaki method. This innovative approach allows us to create a biodiverse, native forest in a fraction of the time it would take through traditional methods.

How We Make a Difference

We take sustainability to the next level by repurposing our used mushroom substrate. This organic material supportes the soil and this undergoes a process called mycoremediation, which helps to improve soil quality and support the growth of new trees. By doing this, we not only recycle waste but also contribute to the health and longevity of our reforestation projects.

Floresta Nativa

The Floresta Nativa Project arose from Sónia Soares' determination to change the course of degradation of 'our home,' planet Earth, and contribute to the recovery of native forests in the country.

Starting in October 2022, this project is defined by challenges:
• Sustainably reforesting;
• Restoring biodiversity through reforestation;
• Reclaiming the destroyed native forest.

Sonia is nature lover with certified training in the Miyawaki Method, she believes that this revolutionary method of planting native forests with astonishing results is part of the path to recovering forests and biodiversity in Portugal. In the creation of Miyawaki Forests, only natural and organic compounds that respect nature are used. Often these compounds are the result of current activities, such as what comes from the artisanal production of mushrooms. Always thinking of a more sustainable world, this partnership is a valuable asset for the Algarve and the forests that will emerge here.
I believe that this environmental project is also a powerful way to contribute to raising the general population's awareness of the urgent need for preservation/recovery of the Environment.
